Mitsubishi Electric CES 2018 Volvo S90
Summary
A state of the art infotainment system designed for home to vehicle connectivity featuring biometric wearables, a digital cluster, head unit, 6 reprogrammable OLED smart switches, a clam-shell dual passenger display, two rear seat headrest displays, and a folding rear seat armrest display.
This video shows a general overview of the Volvo S90 project and some of the interesting features that were included.
The Head Unit has multiple unique functions. The user has the ability to open up to 4 applications at one time. The touch screen interface is also integrated with the 6 mounted OLED smart buttons. These physical buttons have a mini display that can update depending on which application or interaction they represent. If the user presses and holds one of the applications on the screen and drags it toward an OLED button, the button will highlight. If the user lets go of the app panel in this situation, that specific OLED button will become a shortcut for that application. This feature is useful for the customization of quickly accessible buttons.
The Predictive Ticker application is a personalized system that prompts the user based on the time of day, past behavior, calendar, location, CAN bus data, and Amazon shopping list. The Predictive Ticker integrates with the passenger screens, Media Player, Info-payment application, Phone, and Amazon Alexa. It features pop-up notifications that allow the user to accept or decline the suggestion and view past or future suggestions.
The Infopayment Application is an in-vehicle mobile commerce app that syncs orders across 6 displays and features flexible payment allowing the user to pay individually or for the group. Infopayment is integrated with profile, navigation, and Virtual Graffiti which allows the user to leave augmented reality messages on the vehicle.
